WHS Music Jolly Jubilee

Project Description: Project management, event planning, and marketing

The Walkersville Music Boosters LLC was in need of an event coordinator and marketing specialist to revive its annual Breakfast with Santa following the 2020/2021 Pandemic.

I offered my design, marketing, and event planning skills to support the local music department. To make the event stand out from similar local events and make it more inclusive, I rebranded it The Jolly Jubilee.

Content Strategy: A series of landing pages were published to provide information to the community and drive traffic to the website. Letters were drafted to request donations from local businesses and a series of fliers were created to pass out in neighboring communities and schools. Social media posts were drafted to share on the non-profit’s pages in addition to suggested shares that were distributed to music department families and friends to encourage effective ‘social’ word-of-mouth marketing.

Marketing Strategy: Creative assets were designed for social media including social images and video clips, fliers to share physically and online, and email marketing content. Write-ups for local news papers and radio stations were drafted and coupons were created to be distributed on foot during holiday parades leading up to the event.

Event Planning: In addition to creating all marketing collateral, event planning included planning for food (permits, purchasing, preparing, serving, clean-up), vendors, entertainment, volunteers, raffle, games and activities, prizes, finances, etc.

Results: The 2022 Jolly Jubilee was an enormous success, attracting nearly 700 guests and raising 4x the profits of preceding events.

The event has continued to be an annual success and grows bigger every year.
